2026 Scrappy Charity Hat #6

I needed an easy project to take with me to Calliope, so I grabbed these yarns and hat needles to do a hat. I have no idea if this is just a cursed project or what, but I have ripped the body of this hat out SO MANY TIMES for a variety of reason. It’s just a simple stockinette hat, for Pete’s sake! Gah. I think it’s on the right track now though. Fingers crossed!

7/12/26 – I took this to my mom’s on vacation. I worked on it, made mistakes, ripped it, over and over and over. I finally sat it aside for over a month. Then last week I needed an easy project to work on while I watched Bill’s trip videos because I was all on edge over the Graham Platner news that had been all they were talking about and how, once again, women ARE NOT BELIEVED AND THEIR CREDIBILITY IS ALWAYS CALLED INTO QUESTION OVER ANY FUCKING MAN. AHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Anyway, this hat was a good project to keep me from spiraling in rage and to be able to pay attention to Bill’s videos. And yay, it’ll go into the charity pile where I hope it one day makes it onto the head of a woman who has had to deal with a shitty man in our shitty system and that the hat makes her feel good about herself. Big ask for a hat, but hey. I expect big things in life.
