Broom Riding Hat #2

Yarn: Fibernymph Dye Works Bona Fide in Starless Night and Arise! colorways
Pattern: Adapted the chart from the Broom Riding Cowl pattern (Rav link)
Needles: US4 (ribbing), US5 (stockinette after colorwork), US6 (colorwork)
Details:
9/19 – When I weighed my yarn from the first hat, I realized I used the exact opposite amounts of yarn from the half skeins I’d used — 16 grams of Arise and 34 of Starless Night (16+34=50). So I’m giving it a go to do a second hat with the colors reversed. I think I’m going to modify the two bands above and below the moon motif section and just do a couple of checked rounds instead.
Cast on last night and did the ribbing. Should be a quick project!
9/21 – So… I ran out of yarn. Clearly my first heart used more yarn than I though, which means my 50-gm skeins were more than 50-gm. I really need to get better about weighing my yarn before I begin. :face_with_rolling_eyes: I’m either going to use some black/dark gray from my leftovers bin to finish the crown and then maybe add a pompom, or I’ll dye another half skein of my MC to finish. Stay tuned.
