Not started yet. Probably going to take it along with me on my trip.
Emma picked out this yarn years ago and I think it needs to be a hat now.
9/22 – I took this project with me on our Newfoundland trip so that I could cast it on on 9/4 for the Pigskin Party kick off. I did that before I went to bed that night in the camper, but I didn’t get too far. I worked on it again on the ferry ride back to Nova Scotia.
This isn’t a difficult pattern, but I found starting it to be kind of fussy. I’d only taken with me two 16″ needles (2s and 2.5s, because I wasn’t sure which would give me a better gauge), but it would have been easier to begin on a longer circ for magic looping purposes. As it was, I did get it started magic looped on the 16″, but then I had to go to two circs, using the two different sizes I had with me, just until I got it large enough to work in the round on one. If I do the pattern again, I’ll know better how to go about starting it.
I also had issues with sections of stitches shifting when I was magic looping on the 16″, which threw off my increasing, but I managed to get it worked out. It’s not perfect, but it doesn’t look terrible either.
10/9 – I’m on the third of the seven balls now. I’m mostly working on this when I need something mindless or just have a little time and need something easy to pick up and put down without much thought. It’s easy, and it’s fun to see how the colors are changing so gradually with each additional ball. I need to get an updated picture! LOL
