Gathering Seashells Heel-Toe-Do-Si-Do Socks

4/7 – I needed a small travel project for the train ride to and from DC that Bill and I went on the Friday – Saturday before Easter. I’ve had this yarn caked up for a while, so it was the perfect thing to use. I wanted to do something more engaging than my usual 2×1 rib but not so complicated that I needed to read a pattern. Having made this pattern before, I knew that I’d have the patterned sequence memorized after a couple of rounds, and I did.

I managed to get most of the cuff knit in the ride down, and then I worked on the rest of it and the heel flat and heel turn on the ride home, but I was really tired and didn’t knit much on the return trip. I have worked on them a bit since getting home and I’m on the gusset decreases now. This will likely be the project I take with me tomorrow for on the boat while we’re floating around Pymatuning Lake waiting for the eclipse to happen. (Later note – never worked on it in the boat…too much cool wildlife to see!)
