12/1 – I had this yarn caked up from a trip I took it on this year but I never got to work with it. December seemed a good time to pick it up. I actually have this same yarn in my stash twice, accidentally, because I forgot I bought it one year and then apparently bought it again the next. LOL It’s a set with a rust colored mini, but I’m not sure I’m going to use that as it’s a very different color than the rusty stripe. Maybe just for toes? We’ll see.

I’m doing my usual 60 stitch sock, started with 2×1 rib and then k 2 rounds, k2, p1 one round for a gentle waffle texture.

No timeline for these, though it would be fun to have them done in time for Christmas.

1/7/26 – Clearly I did not finish these before Christmas. In fact I didn’t pick them up at all in just of December, and then when I went back to them in the new year, I completely forgot to return to the waffle pattern. :joy: So only the cuff is waffled and the foot is 2×1 rib. Whatevs. LOL

1/16 – These are done. But they are also the most mismatched socks I’ve made in quite a while, and I don’t mean patterning. I’m pretty sure I miscounted how many heel flap rows I did on the first one because my second sock has a longer flap and it took five more gusset decrease rounds to get back to my starting stitch count. LOL The second sock looks visibly larger as a result. I haven’t tried them on yet, so I don’t know how different they’ll feel, but I’m honestly not too concerned. They’re socks I’ll likely only wear during December, which means I’ll maybe wear them two or three times a year. They’ll be fine.
