Details:

Basic vanilla hat. Cast on 96 stitches, worked 2×1 rib for the brim on smaller needles. For last round of ribbing, increased to 108 stitches by working a kfb into the stitch before the purl somewhat evenly spaced around the brim. Switched to larger needles and continued in stockinette for the rest of the hat.

I alternated yarns every two rounds, starting with the Soft Black and Mid-Winter and then going to the Graphite when the Soft Black ran out. I carried the unused yarns up the inside.

I did crown decreases every 12 stitches to begin with and worked a knit round between each decrease round, omitting the decrease round between the last two decrease rounds, ending after the k2tog round and running the tail through the remaining 9 stitches to close the top.

I didn’t weigh the individual yarns before starting, but the hat weighs 55 grams, so appropriately half of that would be the Mid-Winter, and I estimated the split between the other two, as I used all of the Soft Black I had, which took me quite far into the crown decreases.
