12/10 – Cast on the first sock of this final pair in this matchy trio this morning! I didn’t weigh how much is left in the first skein, but I’m just going with it and if I run out I’ll switch to the second skein as they are both from the same dye lot. Even if they’re not exact color matches, they’re my socks, so I’m not super worried about it.

12/15 – Finished the first sock, but it ended up being too short. WTH?? Ripped out the toe, added another 1/2″ at least (one more patterned stripe plus one more green stripe) and then re-knit the sock. It’s now up to about 9.5″, which is fitting better, but the whole sock feels snugger than my usual socks. I’m guessing it’s due to the texture of the yarn, which is a lot toothier than my regular SW sock yarns. I hope the ones I made for my mom and Emma fit ok though.

10/18 – Finished the gusset decreases on the second sock. I had JUST enough yarn in the first ball to finish the cuff, and the second ball literally picked up with the red patterned stripe after maybe 10″ of green that I needed to trim off. Couldn’t have worked out any better!

(First photo is from tonight by headlamp light as our power is off AGAIN. Not sure what the heck is going on lately with that! )

I’m clearly not making as good time on this last pair as I did the first two, but I should have it finished in a day or two. Gotta admit, in ready to be done with this colorway for a while.

I think I’m going to block all three pairs of these socks. I don’t usually block socks, but this yarn is a little on the prickly side, and I think it’ll soften up nicely if I do that.

12/21 – Done! The cuff on the second such feels slightly shorter than the first. I haven’t counted rows to check if that’s the case, but I wouldn’t be surprised since I ran out of yarn at what I thought was the end of my cuff stripes and called it good. But it is what it is! All three pairs are finished in time for Christmas!
