My Beautiful Wickedness SW Merino
Materials:
Fiber: Keegan Lane Yarns, SW Merino, 4 oz. – My Beautiful Wickedness colorway
Wheel: Singles – Ashford Traveler
Details:
This is some deep stash fiber from the third round of the Trifecta of Awesome club that I did with Heather and Melissa. I’m pretty sure that was the final round we did, but I don’t even remember what year that was. I’m going to guess no later than 2014??
This is a pretty random dyed colorway that won’t need any excessive planning on my part, so I think I’ll just strip it down and do a fractal two ply. There’s a lot of white left on the river so it should be pretty bright no matter what.
I’m doing the singles on my Traveler, which will give me time to deal with replacing the drive band on my Sidekick before I have to ply. LOL
5/16 – Finished with the first half/first bobbin. I do not love SW fiber. It’s ok, but it’s def not my favorite. As such, I just want to spin through this and get it done. I’m not being precious about keeping the single even.
5/22 – Finished the second bobbin of singles. Now to replace the drive band on my Sidekick so I can ply it all on one bobbin. Hopefully I’ll get to that later today and can get this plied before going away this weekend. :crossed_fingers:
6/27 – I ended up being lazy and plying this into two skeins on my Traveler. Mostly because the first one I did one night when I couldn’t sleep and tearing my Sidekick apart at midnight wasn’t an option I was willing to consider. LOL
They aren’t soaked yet, but they plied yardage is 123 yd and 155 yd, for a total of 278 yd unsoaked. That came to 120 grams. I did have a little leftover singles on one bobbin that I just chucked, but I don’t believe it was 10 grams worth. I didn’t have much waste in this project that I recall, so maybe my first weight was off? Who knows. Close enough!
I’m going to say this will probably be a heavy sport/light DK weight yarn.
