10/8 – I ripped out my failed September charity hat and started over for this October hat. Making up the mosaic patterning as I go.

90 stitch cast on, US 5. Body of hat on US 7.

10/10 – Gah!! I did not take notes on what I was doing in the first few repeats of the colorwork, and today when I went back to it, I could not for the life of me replicate it. Whhhhyyyy am I like this?? And what is it with this particular yarn and hat?? It’s like it’s cursed or something. I did rip back 2+ rounds when I realized what I was doing was not at all the same as what I’d been doing. Then I just did it in regular stranded colorwork, and that wasn’t the same either, but at that point I basically said f+ck it because I wasn’t ripping out again. At some point I’m going to have to play with some scrap yarn and try to figure out what the heck I was originally doing, just for my own peace of mind because I really liked how it was looking, but for now, I’m finishing it in stranded and it’ll be what it’ll be. :face_with_rolling_eyes:

10/11 – Done! I did the rest of the hat in regular stranded colorwork. My decreases were some in the second black round, so every 4 rds. 10 decreases in a round. Because of that rate, the hat is weirdly tall, and it kind of folds over instead of slouches, but I rather like it.
