Pattern: Swing Your Partner, by Kay Litton (Rav link)

Details:
9/7 – Cast on both mitts on separate needles while riding to the Philly airport. I plan to work on them concurrently. I’m not matching the stripes, just started each where each half cake of yarn began. I have both cuffs finished, and I even did the tbl knit stitch in the ribbing, which in usually in too much of a hurry to do. :joy:
9/18 – I worked on these mostly in the last day of the trip as well as on the flights and car ride home. I literally knit on these for nearly 7 hours straight on the Dublin-Philly flight. :} I’m pretty sure I followed the pattern as written, except when I went to start the thumb gusset on the first mitt, I realized that I apparently misremembered how many stitches to cast on when I cast on the second mitt (which was the first one I was doing the gusset on…sorry, confusing), and I had an extra two stitches. I just allocated them to the end after the gusset, so there were 6 stitches there instead of 4. When I went to do the gusset on the other mitt (which had been the first I’d cast on, and had the correct number of stitches), I ended up still putting 6 stitches on the outside of the gusset and then increased for the two extra stitches a couple of rows apart at the end of that needle. It worked out fine.
They’re all done and ends woven in, but they still need to be blocked. They’re cute. I’m hoping the patterning on the back opens up when they’re blocked.
