1/11/26 – I’ve had this pattern for a long time and I’m in the mood for something that isn’t just a plain vanilla hat. I’m hoping there is enough contrast between the two colors to make it work. I took a pic and converted it to black and white, and it looked promising, so we’ll see!

1/16 – In fact, the contract did not work out. I ended up dyeing a skein of Soft Black to use, though I probably could have used some stash Bedazzled fingering leftovers held double. but I didn’t think of that before I dyed the new skein. Oh well! I might be able to do a second hat with colors reversed.

2/7 – Loving how this is working out with the black contrast. I should get this done today, so it’ll be my last PSP finish for the season.

I am getting gauge, though after a soak it’ll probably open up a bit. If I was keeping this hat, I’d probably try to snug it up in the dryer a little, but being a charity item, I’m confident it’ll fit someone as is!

2/8 – Finished! I finished the knitting last night and made the tassel this morning. (Pattern showed it with a pompom, but I’m a tassel person whenever possible, LOL) It’s not been blocked yet, but since that’s not required for non-blitz projects, I’ll block it later. The tassel is just tied on with a bow on the inside for easy removal for washing in general.

This was a super fun pattern, especially the crown decreases. I’m glad to have finally made this one after owning the pattern for many years.

While it was meant to also be a stash project, I did end up having to dye the black skein so while the total yarn used equalled almost a full skein, I still technically have that same amount to put back in stash. I guess I broke even. LOL
